Mr. Hirotaka Murakami, CEO of Panasonic Group in Thailand, recently handed out a donation of THB 109,286 to M.R. Priyangsri Watanakun, Assistant Secretary General in Fund Raising & Director of Fund Raising Bureau, Thai Red Cross Society. The proceeds will go to assist disaster relief in Myanmar and China. This is following MEI HQ's donation of 160 million Japanese yen to the 2 countries in the name of Panasonic in response to international relief efforts rendered to the victims of the recent Myanmar and China natural disasters.

Panasonic Group in Thailand has started “Panasonic Education Support Fund” project in collaboration with employees and dealers to provide lunch to students in remote areas of Thailand. Besides financial assistance for lunch programs, books and other educational materials are also provided to schools. The project started from Surin, Buriram, Sisaket, Nong Bua Lamphu and Khon Kaen in North East Area of Thailand and is expected to expand to other provinces as well.

Panasonic Siew Sales (Thailand) Co.,Ltd has conducted activities to erect buildings and supply equipment to rural elementary schools. In 2003, we accomplished our original aim of aiding one school per province, with the construction of buildings in a total of 75 elementary schools across Thailand. We also set up the Siew-Matsushita Foundation, with resources of THB 200,000 for each of these schools. In 2004, we also supplied stationery to every single pupil at all 75 of these schools.

Education is fundamental in making a nation healthy. Therefore Panasonic are proud to share the good things to students who lack opportunities and are in need of support in education. Recently, Panasonic A.P. Sales (Thailand) Co.,Ltd. volunteered to donate school backpacks to 5 schools at Bangplee district on 14-15 February 2008 to promote employees’ awareness in CSR activity and create good relationship with nearby community.

Panasonic A. P. Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd. organized an activity namely “Blood Donation for Greatest King” on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King’s 80th Birthday Anniversary in December 2007. This program aims to help Thai Red Cross Society to avoid blood shortages due to high blood demand when emergency, such as disaster, accidents, etc.

Panasonic Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. hosted the second regional contest of Kid Witness News (KWN) in Asia Pacific on December 7 in Bangkok, Thailand. Out of six countries' finalists selected from 108 participating schools, Glenwood Public School from Australia was awarded the Grand Winner with a prize of Japan trip. The Glenwood's video will be entered in the competition for the KWN International Award to be announced in the U.S. next year.

As winners of the 2nd KWN Asia/Pacific Regional Contest, representatives from Glenwood Public School of New South Wales, Australia, recently visited Japan. During a week-long visit, they participated in exchanges with a KWN school in Osaka, showing each other videos. They also had a chance to try traditional games and Japanese school lunches.

The Panasonic Scholarship Program was established in 1998 in commemoration of the company's 80th anniversary as a way for the company to express its appreciation to society. Its aim is to provide scholarship opportunities to privately financed students from Asian countries who wish to pursue a master's course in Japan, to offer financial assistance to foster highly educated experts who can contribute to the development of their countries in the 21st century, and to promote mutual friendship between their home countries and Japan.

โอกาสครบรอบ 80 ปี ของ พานาโซนิค คอร์ปอเรชั่น ประเทศญี่ปุ่น (Panasonic Corporation) โดยมีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อให้การสนับสนุนนักศึกษาจากประเทศในภาคพื้นเอเชียได้มีโอกาสศึกษาต่อระดับปริญญาโท และการวิจัยในประเทศญี่ปุ่นภายใต้ความร่วมมือกับกลุ่มบริษัทพานาโซนิคในประเทศไทย พานาโซนิคมีความภาคภูมิใจที่ได้มอบโอกาสแก่นักศึกษาไทยในการไปศึกษาต่อเพื่อยกระดับคุณภาพชีวิตและสามารถนำความรู้กลับมาพัฒนาประเทศรวมทั้งเป็นการสร้างเสริมมิตรภาพและความเข้าใจอันดีระหว่างประเทศไทยกับประเทศญี่ปุ่นในศตวรรษที่ 21 โดยทุนการศึกษาพานาโซนิคจะไม่มีข้อผูกพันในการคืนทุนเมื่อสำเร็จการศึกษา เว้นแต่ผิดเงื่อนไขในสัญญาของการให้ทุนการศึกษาที่กำหนดไว้
